Franklin Juice Co.
For this project, I was given the task of completely redesigning the website for a local business of our choice. I chose Franklin Juice Co. in Nashville, TN because I grew up there and happen to know the founder! It was my first time coding and, even though it was far more complicated than I anticipated, I absolutely fell in love with the challenge of it all. I created this website using CSS & HTML in DreamWeaver.

Goals
My overall goal with this project was to create a user-friendly & modernized website for Franklin Juice Co. By using bold colors, powerful hero images, & engaging typefaces, I was able to do just that! This project was meant to be more of a learning opportunity rather than a design experience because it focused on the behind-the-scenes of web design: coding!
Because I had no prior knowledge of CSS, HTML, or even DreamWeaver in general, I was limited in my design. However, after countless visits to W3Schools.com, watching a multitude of coding tutorials, & connecting with classmates, I was able to catch on fairly quickly & fulfill most of my vision for the website design.

Challenges
Like I mentioned earlier, this was my first time coding. I am more of a visual person, so my brain gets pretty overwhelmed when dealing with endless lines of text filled with words, numbers, & symbols. With all of this being said, you could imagine how terrified I was when I realized I was taking a coding course!
However, I was pleasantly surprised to actually fall in love with the challenge & realized I was actually pretty good at it! I can’t wait to continue progressing my knowledge with CSS & HTML & hope to learn JavaScript in the future.

Takeaways
In terms of academics, this project taught me the basics of Web Design & how to code. However, in terms of life, I learned much more than that. I learned not to underestimate myself. The second I realized that the Web Design course I was enrolled in was all coding, I was tempted to drop it because I told myself I would never understand it.
However, I forced myself to give it a shot. I was constantly asking questions in class, scheduling meeting times with my professor, & extending my knowledge through YouTube and W3Schools.com. In the end, I fell in love with the challenge & was proud of myself for trying out something new.
